The students were asked to constructpoems around a concept, model, or topic covered in the course: the first poem was focused ondeterministic inventory modeling and the second poem was focused on stochastic inventorymodeling. After each technical poem writing assignment, students were asked to respond toseveral open-ended questions detailing their experience and attitude towards these creativewriting assignments. Data was collected during the semesters Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 and ofthe 84 total students over the two semesters, 64 consented to participate in the study. Theparticipant responses to reflection prompts were analyzed qualitatively using open and

This has been done in various ways, includingthrough student use at home and in-class demonstrations and teaching labs. During the mostrecent academic session (Fall 2021–Spring 2022), the effects of practical home-basedexperimentation and lab activities on students' attitudes, interests, and performance wereexamined for the Engineering Thermodynamics course. The outcomes of a survey known as theMotivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaires (MLSQ), which was given to 51 students, demonstrated better improvements in the student's motivation, epistemic, and perceptualcuriosity, three crucial characteristics linked to their success. contribute tocommunity development and enhance their skills. The implementation of project-based learning(PBL) in community-based projects has been shown to improve students’ collaboration andcommunication skills (Sagala et al., 2019). PBL involves exploration of knowledge as studentswork on a project over an extended period of time, providing opportunities for students to gainprofessional experience with real-world projects (Bakar et al., 2019; Kokotsaki et al., 2016).CBR offer numerous advantages for both researchers and the communities involved. Thisresearch methodology has been shown to be effective for translating research findings intocommunity solutions (Tapia et al., 2022). Furthermore, CBR promotes co-learning whereresearchers gain insights

. The production processes that the students will perform are amix of manufacturing processes and assembly tasks. Students will use a lathe to cut the tubes tothe correct length; a drill to put a hole in the end of the small tube; a press to install a pistonhead; and finally, two assembly processes to place a label, assemble the housing, and tighten theunit together. To take full advantage of the VR simulation the faculty used the 2022 academic year to designscenarios that align with learning objectives of those respective courses. Faculty identified andagreed on the following concepts of CI that students will learn while engaging in the simulation: • Waste Identification • Workplace organization • Process Cycle time reduction

assess the project's technical work. Because projects are run by students, courseinstructors are reliant on student descriptions of the work to assess the quality of the work. Assuch, the two became horribly confounded. Was the work technically unsound, or did thestudents simply explain it poorly? How can an instructor assess a project without understandingwhat a student team has done? These problems were exacerbated by distracting issues ofdisorganized and ungrammatical writing. It was difficult to focus on technical solutions. From Spring 2020 to Spring 2022 we experimented with interventions to address student writingand communication issues. We created instructional rubrics and format outlines to help structurestudent work and clarify course

The participants were recruited from academic levels which were post first-year, aswell as ensuring representation across socio-demographic variables such as gender, age, andacademic standing in the course. Our experiment-centric pedagogy involves integrating hands-on activities and experiments within the traditional curriculum. The ECP sessions were carried out in the spring term of 2022 and covered in separate courses. The experiments created for modules taught in IE are as published by the authors [authors]. did not match what they wanted toachieve [4]. Also, a study in 2022, indicates that the primary reason girls do not chooseengineering is because of lack of knowledge and understanding of what engineering is and whatthey do [5]. As part of the redesign of the project management course, we also wanted to addressthis societal issue. Having engineers incorporate societal issues into their design work is arequirement of not only our accrediting body ABET, it is a professional obligation according tothe Engineer’s Code of Ethics[6, 7]. These two primary issues were the guiding light in theredesign of the project management course. Why was the Project Management Class redesigned? One of the primary reasons for redesigning the project management class

The PMGsupports changes in engineering programs by assisting in redesigning the curriculum basedon competencies, including innovative pedagogical practices and developing new methods ofstudent assessment [24], [26]. This article proposes a method for evaluating and monitoringthe development of students' competencies throughout the undergraduate IndustrialEngineering program based on the results and experiences generated by PMG’s EvaluationWorking Group (EWG) activities during 2021 and 2022. It involves458 engineering students that were enrolled in the Data Analysis course between 2020 and 2022.This course is focused in data collection techniques and statistical analysis for analyzingprocesses. Students were exposed to a Guided Learning Sequence that explored basic statisticalconcepts and its application in a real-life inspired problem. This may imply that our AIalgorithm is not necessarily “blind” to the protected status of gender.
