For example, an electrical engineeremerging into the workplace today may never need to solder a discrete component throughouthis career, but rather simply program reconfigurable devices like field programmable gate arrays(FPGAs). The truth is that the workplace itself is becoming less “real”, and is depending moreand more on the same types of techniques and technologies used in RVL. Even real labs are nowusing Virtual Instruments, which use the same software-mapped interface-to-functionalityparadigm as RVLs. In other words, if the problems of
