It alsodiscusses the steps involved in the deployment of the framework for development of prototypesmart lab.The study will be conducted in two phases. The first phase focuses on the development offramework for QR code learning environment. The second phase focuses on the deployment ofthis learning environment in teaching the courses. This is a part of a research project, which is inprogress. The paper presents an overview of the framework development involved in the firstphase of the research and pilot study conducted in the second phase. Conveyance Systems X XAll the textbooks follow similar methods for calculating building loads, and for the design andsizing of systems. However, the book published by ATP defines and restricts its methods andequations to the English units system only.None of the textbooks reviewed provides coverage of what is typically considered advancedtopics in MEP construction, such as MEP estimating, scheduling, or project management; andwith the exception of Janis & Tao’s book, none of the books cover the subject of MEP systemcoordination either. Other topics relevant to MEP systems construction and absent from all thetextbooks are discussions on prefabrication, constructability issues such as

classes while the studentscompleted the surveys. Completed surveys were collected in a ballot box and returned to theauthors. All three surveys were color coded; the first one was blue, the second pink and the thirdgreen.First SurveyThe first survey was adapted from a series of research projects 4, 9, 10 that used a 139 questionsurvey designed to understand the perceptions and attitudes on cheating from engineeringstudents. The survey was previously distributed to engineering students at several institutionsthat included four-year public and private universities as well as community colleges with pre-engineering programs. For this research the authors only used a portion of that survey, and specifically a list of twentyactions where students were

Students were provided performance data from a prestressed concrete piledriving operation to provide foundational support for a highway bridge. The actual unit cost ofinstalling the piling was provided for 10 bridge bents. During the course of the project

study followed by research. Graduate education duringthe century that followed evolved to become a mentor based learning environment wherestudents worked alongside professors on research projects. The benefit of this mentor-basedprocess was that students would transition from consumers of research to producers of research. This process was accelerated in the post-World War II period where the economic expansion andcold war competition of the time period encouraged significant financial support for research. Bythe 1970s top tier universities had interwoven organized research and graduate education andlower tiered institutions strove to emulate this practice. As US Federal research funds began to diminish in the 1970s and 1980s, reduced

. Theconstruction industry needs to communicate on a large scale with other related businessessuch as material and equipment suppliers, vendors, subcontractors and clients. ERP canbe used by construction companies to improve responsiveness in relation to customers, strengthen supply chain partnerships, enhance organizational flexibility, improve decisionmaking capabilities and reduce project completion time and lower costs. Also the construction industry has the history of having huge amount business failuresand low amount of profits. ERP can be useful in changing this as it has proved itspotential in the other sectors5. There are very few studies conducted about theimplementation of ERP systems in the construction industry. Recently, severalpractitioners

increase retention rates but limit access instead.Introduction:A previous study on learning in the classroom (Mosier, 2016) was the impetus for this researchproject. In the previous study, students were asked to perform review assignments and report onwhether a student as teacher approach helped them reinforce their previous coursework. Asvalidation, the grades of the three prerequisite courses were compared to the post-assignmentgrade outcomes. Although it was a one-semester project, the data indicated that a betterpredictor of their outcome was the students’ grades in the previous or prerequisite courses. Theresearch expanded to include the college entrance exam and math placement exams. This initialresearch lead to the question examined in the

of the project, as well as the LEED scorecard for the building. Students were then required to discuss how this building excelled in that particular category. Requiring students to research and complete this discussion allowed them to discover ways in which buildings are made sustainable. 2. Evaluate a current building discussion: For these types of discussions, students are to evaluate current buildings in their community and discuss how the building was inefficient. For each of these discussions, the students are required to include pictures of the building they are discussing. Many times, students chose to write about the houses they currently live in, as the majority of the houses in the area are old

The Decoding process is a comprehensive form of action research3that guides the educator to uncover, or ‘decode’, expert ways of thinking that are not obvious tonovice students. The purpose of this paper is to examine a single step (the decoding interview) in the Decodingprocess that is at the heart of Decoding process to illustrate how some tacit moves in oneengineering mechanics course were uncovered. This study is part of a larger research project, based in the interpretive research paradigm that is common in education research. This projectuses case study4 methodology and autoethnographic methods. Autoethnography is a type of self-study that transcends narration and engages in cultural

studying, homework problems/questions, projects, and otherwork outside the classroom itself. However, for an OSHA 30 card, 30 of the 37.5 hoursof time in the classroom would have to be devoted to the requisite OSHA topics. Therefore coverage in other areas such as safety training methods, OSHA recordkeeping, worker’s compensation, and safety design/engineering would be compromised because ofthe OSHA requirements. Any educational course is about choices and based on this it ishard to justify the time to grant students an OSHA 30 card within the confines/limits ofthe standard four-year degree. It may be best for students then to obtain their OSHA 30cards outside the traditional four-year degree requirements. A review of commonly-utilized construction

interactive projects. Reflective learners retainand understand by thinking about it first. They think about the steps involved to reach thesolution before acting. They also prefer to work alone [1, 2, 45-47].The third learning style dimension is the students’ Perception (LSD3) of the information giventhem. Are they sensing learners versus intuitive learners? Sensors like to learn facts and solveproblems with established methods and formulas. They dislike courses that have little apparentconnection to the real world. Intuitors prefer learning possibilities, relationships, and abstractconcepts and think how they can be applied to other situations. They like innovation and dislikerepetition and “plug-and-chug” course work with lots of memorization and
