inattentive responders. The finalanalytical sample included 834 students. Participant gender identity, race/ethnicity, nationality,sexual identity, and disability status are reported in Table 1. Participants self-identified theirdemographics by selecting from categorical response options including write-in text options. Thesample is predominantly men (65%), and white (66%), which reflects the general populationcharacteristics among contemporary U. S. engineering undergraduates. Most participantsidentified as heterosexual/straight (88%) with 9% identifying as asexual, bisexual, gay, lesbian,pansexual, queer, or another sexual identity. Students reported a range of disabilities, withpsychological conditions predominating at 13% of the sample.Table 1

while considering students’gender, specifically male versus female students, the results have been inconclusive orcontradictory (see [36]). Findings from Struck et al.’s review suggest that when considering livedexperiences tied to social positions, the deeply held beliefs surrounding AGT do not hold [22]. Additionally, studies that have used AGT in diverse cultural settings, primarily in EastAsian countries, refute many widely accepted beliefs about AGT [36]-[38]. For example, thesestudies have found a positive correlation between performance-avoidance goals and academicachievement with samples of Asian/East Asian students, a goal orientation that consistently showsa negative relationship with achievement when looking at samples of U.S

seek help or treatment (Jensen & Cross,2019; Lipson et al., 2019).To combat this crisis and encourage a help-seeking mindset in engineering students, someresearch has begun to implement mental health-focused interventions designed to shift themindset and encourage persistence in engineering programs [18]. In Tait et al. (2024)'s review ofwell-being interventions, they found that the most common type of intervention was educational,in which a curriculum is updated to feature considerations for mental health awareness. degree program at a large, public, research-intensive(R1) university in the southern U.S.Data Collection Co-creators were recruited through emails sent by each university’s disability resourceoffice and engineering department(s) to undergraduate students. These emails outlined eligibilitycriteria, which required co-creators to be currently enrolled undergraduate engineering studentsat that university who identify as disabled or as a person with disabilities. The emails invitedeligible individuals to participate in the study by reflecting on their disability-related experiencesat their university. Additionally, the emails detailed the participation process and offered a $40gift card as compensation upon completing the interview. To ensure
