a consideration of Bloom’s Taxonomy13 which willinclude an appropriate range of competencies probed including Knowledge, Comprehension,Application, Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation. Additionally, the learning outcomes must beframed in terms of the goals that are expected of students, as in the two examples given above. The above-described assessments should be part of a standardized assessment plan that willinclude the following steps:1) Determine intended learning outcomes to be assessed using internal, and where possible, Page 25.1100.10external benchmarks.2) Develop two varied assessments for each outcome assessed and a criterion for

making classes were interspersed with activities thatinvolved mathematics either directly, e.g., working on traditional math worksheets or playingmath games, or indirectly, e.g., creating games or participating in discussion activities.Students were given surveys to evaluate their a) interest in games, b) technological literacy, andc) math motivation and college plans. A pre-algebra readiness test was given from the suite ofstandardized tests developed by the Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project (MDTP, 2010).Decisions about math integration were based on the results, and also on conversations withadministrators, in particular their concerns that every child be able to pass the California StateHigh School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) as soon as possible

Over several years, the teaching strategies and assignmentrequirements for MATH 131 have evolved to accommodate students‟ generally non-Americancultures, their English-as-second-language (ESL) needs, and their individual learning andinformation-processing preferences. After a writing center instructor administers and evaluateslearning style preference and brain hemispheric preference tests given during the first few daysof class, the professor prepares teaching strategies that address visual, auditory, tactile, andkinesthetic preferences as needed for the specific class

. During the recent four years, Pfeiffer focused on the organization and coordination of the involved teams and contributed to several other eLearning-related projects. He is also involved in the planning and application of future eLearning projects at TUB and is the coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Action 2 AVEMPACE, a student and academic staff exchange program between the EU, Jordan, and Syria. In 2008-09, he spent four months of research at the Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman. His research interest focuses on the development of interactive mathematical objects especially supporting the visualization of complex mathematics and physics-related problems. (d) *(Bonus question) Can you explain the answer to (c) directly from differential equation (4) without solving it?We plan to explore multi-stage rockets later in the semester. For this we will first need to learnsome multi-variable calculus methods.
