Laboratories developed and integrated a formalized mentor program intothe EDP. The program coordinators reviewed the needs of associate engineers, evaluated bestpractices, and created benchmarks for success. It became evident that a mechanism beyondsupervision and teaching was a necessary component of the new training program. Mentoringserves many purposes at varying levels.
