) Education website [5] which is meant to provide acomprehensive source of information for NDI technical education. This website was created in the2000’s by NDI professionals and educators from Iowa State University and five regional communitycolleges. It is currently maintained with funding from the American Society of NondestructiveTesting (ASNT) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education(ATE) Program.Within the College of Engineering at TAMU, the MMET program houses an ABET-accredited 4-year engineering technology degree that imparts a hands-on approach to education, whereby ~80%of the courses are accompanied by complementing laboratory sessions. The majority of these labshave been developed over the years with

We hope these studies will demonstratethat the 3C program effects lasting change even afterformal participation ends.We believe that by disrupting our computing and STEMdepartment cultures, one cohort at a time, we can drivesystemic change and create a more inclusive and equitablefuture for technical fields. But we recognize that truechange takes time, and we are committed to doing thiswork for the long haul. 20 This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. 2118453. perform lab experiments without the need to go to a physical lab. This has opened a door forteaching advanced concepts with the help of computer programs – some of these experiments areeither prohibitively expensive to perform in an academic setting or technically infeasible withoutthe full industrial infrastructure. For example, Du Val and He used state-of-the-art aircraftmodeling and simulation tools for rotorcraft design, analysis, test, and full-flight simulationapplications [18]. They also developed Graphical User Interfaces that provide user-friendlyoperation. Likewise, Jasti et al.’s study showed that student performance in the application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation learning levels improved compared to those not provided in

Fall of 2012. Based upon both published results on “writing to learn” from the literatureand the authors’ observations from Fall 2012, it was reasonable to hypothesize that the activity ofwriting homework abstracts would lead to improved attainment of the course instructionalobjectives. However, the control experiment that was conducted in the Fall of 2013 did notproduce any evidence to support of this hypothesis.Literature Cited i Felder, R.M., “Stoichiometry without Tears”, Chemical Engineering Education, 24(4), 188-196, 1990. ii XXXX and YYYYY, “Effects of Requiring Students to Write Abstracts for Homework Problem Solutions,”Proceedings of the 2013 ASEE Annual Conference, Atlanta, GA (2013). iii Maharaj, S
