More often than not, most great ideas, insightsand general ‘eureka’ moments occur when computers are not readily available. Theinteraction one can have with others over a sketch is also hard to beat. The informationdensity in a sketch also far surpasses that of the written word, the old adage ‘a picture isworth a thousand words’ still stands true today. The sketch also, by its very informality,encourages others to contribute to its development and the use of a pencil generally formsno technological barriers. All in all, it remains a tremendous tool for design and so shouldcommandeer its fair share of a design course’s allotted time
