prosthetic mitral valve, the feasibilityof the approach was shown. In the future, it is hoped to explore the development of anenhanced mitral valve using flexible material. It is also hoped to develop a mitral valvesuitable for a minimally invasive method for implantation, such as a transcathetertechnique.In conclusion, with a collaborative team of biomedical and mechanical engineeringstudents, a prosthetic mitral valve was designed using 3D CAD tools. changes in resistances that are ultimately read as changes in voltage by the microcontroller. Utilizing a stretch sensing material, the onset of a loop during an endoscopic procedure was accurately determined. The effectiveness of each configuration in detecting the formation of a loop is studied. This loop detecting device was designed in a way that it can be attached to an endoscope without significantly increasing the diameter of the endoscopic tubing. Once a loop is formed, the device will send a warning signal so the doctor who performs the endoscopic procedure can adjust his or her operation to avoid harming the patient. In addition to trainings located on Universitycampus, INSPIRE with support from the National Science Foundation, has provided five yearsof TPD for engineering in one school district located in the Southern United States. Throughoutthe course of working with multiple schools in that school district, some teachers communicatedthat they would no longer participate in engineering. The district adopted new testing standardsthe second year of our project and many teachers reported stress related to the new associatedcurriculum and amount of time spent testing. Because the Ambassadors present in pairs, they present in up to three parallel classrooms at a time during the school day.
