faculty members in the Department wanted to follow suit, and began their search for theright type of practitioners, to enrich the academic process by bringing the practice into the classroom. After Foundation Engineering was over, and the final course grade was out, a“questionnaire” was sent to those who enrolled in the class seeking their opinions, evaluations,and any comment(s) they may wish to offer. Twenty six out of a total of 30 students returned the“questionnaire” on time! The opinions expressed and comments made were, by and large,positive to say the least. After regrouping, and rephrasing to correct the English language; thecomments offered by the ex- students, could be summarized as follows:  The adjunct was easy to approach

Agriculture (USDA) supported project(s) has continued to provide additional impetus andbreadth to these endeavors. Besides supporting graduate students as well as undergraduate studentsat UMES, these efforts have continued to be integrated with UMES component of the SummerExchange Program among UMCP, UMES, UMBC, Capital Technology University, and MSUinitiated in summer of 2009 with support from NASA HQ and continued through all subsequentsummers so far with MDSGC funds [11,12] ) .For the exchange program two student interns are identified from each of the five participatingcampuses in the state and supported by MDSGC funds, for 10 weeks of the summer to work onongoing experiential learning and/or research projects at one of the other four

Anexample of this would be to add a decision making thing to the above example that “subscribes”to the temperature, light and motion data that has been ‘published” by the sensing devices.Using a control algorithm, the decision making device would “publish” new actuator positions tothe broker that would store these instructions. When a third actuator device logs into the IoTsystem, it can subscribe to the subset of instructions pertaining to it actuators and makeadjustments based on the instructions published by the decision-making device(s). This systemcan operate without constant human intervention and does not have to be fully connected at alltimes – thus the creation of an IoT system. Finally
