attainment of the targeted learning objectives. To that end, two engineering education researchers planned and carried out an intrinsic case study of the Winter 2013 offering of the course. After executing the study, the researchers were surprised to find quite a negative bent in students’ responses to the course in the data. They recognized that students’ expectations and perceived experiences were quite different from the instructor’s expectations and intended experiences for his students.
