. Recognizing that engineers need material from both semesters of the traditional twosemester sequence, a new one-semester course was developed. This course has been designedaround the pedagogical theme that "The properties of larger particles are based upon theproperties of their constituent particles and their interactions". As such, the students areintroduced to "modern" physics. industry-related major, or as a career path that is highly valued and greatly needed inindustry [14] – [17]. We provide a visual comparison of both the engineering and engineeringtechnology majors as part of the advising guide we are developing so that students betterunderstand the differences and similarities from the perspective of curriculum. Figure 2 showsthat the engineering major is much more mathematically rigorous than the ET major. Table 2summarizes the notable comparisons between the two majors. These comparisons show the levelof flexibility of the ET major with more technical elective courses and fewer required mathcourses. The ET major requires an algebra-based curriculum, instead of calculus-basedcurriculum of the engineering major

As such, a model wasdiscussed to address four critical areas that will help us reach those goals: 1) effectiveacademic and social integration, 2) appropriate financial support, 3) narrow perceptionof the field of cybersecurity and available career paths, and 4) role models/mentors.
