, including thepaper's identifier, publication year, and relevant sections in the paper. The authors also recordedkey high-level details about the technology, including the education level targeted, theengineering discipline alignment, and any techniques used to develop the EdTech. The datasetalso captures the technology's stated purpose (e.g., inquiry, communication, learning, teaching, assessment), its type (e.g., adaptive learning technologies, immersive environments, hardwaretechnologies), and requirements for use (e.g., internet access, specific devices). Any limitations, scalability concerns, costs, and impacts of the technology if mentioned, along with additionalcomments or observations, were also recorded. In this preliminary literature review

collaboration to enhancetheir learning.A key component of hands-on projects is the design process where valuable skills such asadaptability, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving are developedand enhanced. For example [5], has recognized the value of using design project-based learningexperiences to teach freshmen engineering students about the design process. Thus, design is anessential element of engineering education for future engineers to drive innovation in therespective fields.Design experiences can be facilitated using 3D printing technologies [4][6]. With technologicaladvancements, 3D printing is quickly becoming the fastest and most affordable way torevolutionize STEM education by allowing for technology driven

thinking and problem-solving capabilities by incorporating this research experience into engineering education. Ourgoal is to enable students to analyze and address engineering challenges effectively in alldisciplines. This study promotes the implementation of theoretical knowledge with real-testedexperiments, highlighting the importance of experiential learning in engineering education. Inthe end, the results were helpful in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practicallearning and preparing students for successful careers in engineering by preparing them to matchstate-of-the-art technology with practical demands.KeywordsInternet of Things, IoT Applications, Edge Computing, Distributed Stream ProcessingFrameworks, Virtual Machines

PLM initiatives fit into the circular economy paradigm. In addition to PLM’sapplication to physical products, virtual engineering research by Morshedzadeh et al. [6] uses PLMsystems to create a new information model to house virtual models of historical artifacts from anautomotive company. With an extensive network of PLM systems applications, researchers arefocusing on how to implement PLM solutions in engineering enterprises. Although someresearchers are focusing on introducing PLM tools into engineering education [7][8], the initiativehas not made widespread impacts yet, which has led to students being ill-prepared for their futurecareers in the workforce.2. Overview of PLM ToolsA business may utilize many PLM resources such as methods
