university researchers in the UK, France, andTurkey. The three countries were, at the time of the study, at very different moments of datasharing policy development and implementation. They found that researchers harbored concernsabout data sharing, mostly related to ethics (67.5%), but also misuse and misinterpretation ofdata, and fear of losing the scientific edge. towards specific tasks. Importantly, custom instructions, user uploadedfiles, and inputs given to custom GPT instances are not used to train the underlying foundationmodels, GPT-4 in this case. Building custom GPTs is still new and there is much to learn aboutcreating instances of GPT4 designed to assist with specific tasks. Due to their ability to optimizeon a narrow task, custom GPTs were determined to be the best option for this project. Thecustom GPT was designed specifically to extract citations from MET capstone project reports viaimages of their bibliographies. Screenshots of the bibliographies were saved as local image filesand uploaded to the custom GPT one at a time to extract and build the citation information.While this worked well
