rehearsal took approximately eight hours on the weekend, the actualassembly took about an hour and a half. The rehearsal was beneficial for discovering thatmore pieces were needed, some of the concepts on paper did not work as planned, andpieces did not go together as easily as anticipated. Because a 100 pound block ofconcrete was being suspended, the students developed a safety plan to protect the publicwhile the structure was displayed.Figure 12 shows the final structure constructed and on display. We plan to monitor these students in subsequentprogramming courses for their performance and present the findings in another paper. In the CS 300course, we used RAPTOR in 2012 Fall semester. There were 12 students and most of them (90%) likedRAPTOR for small problems (small flowcharts).
