In the end, we provided aweb-based chatbot that allows access to the latest tweets, news feeds, and our harvested tweetsdatasets. For both fall 2018and spring 2019, differences between the two groups in semester GPA were not statisticallysignificant (t=-.333, p=.74 for fall and t=-1.14, p=.25 for spring).Behavioral EngagementBehavioral engagement data was collected via a written survey instrument administered during amandatory advising session with college academic advisors. The students filled out the surveys withthe advisors and then discussed the answers. The academic advisors then worked with each studenton a plan to address any problem areas. which OERhas penetrated a campus, including details such as whether course catalogs designate courses asOER courses. The OER efforts reported in this paper have also resulted in positive studentcomments in end of semester course evaluations. The author plans to continue to expand use ofOER, including replacing textbooks by OER in other courses that he teaches.ConclusionsReceiving a small OER grant helped the author create online resources to help students learn touse Simulink simulation software, and complete Simulink labs outside of class.
