educationbegan to become accepted in the U.S. in the 1990’s when the idea of combining action incommunity and structured learning began to be institutionalized as a pedagogy and as a field[1],[2]. The idea was called service-learning. Bringle and Hatcher [3] defined service learning as“a credit-bearing educational experience in which students participate in an organized serviceactivity that meets identified community needs and reflection on the service activity in such away as to gain further understanding of the course content, a broader appreciation of thediscipline and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility” (p. 222).Community service and civic engagement has been ingrained in the Indian culture from a verylong time. A modern example of such a

educationresearch [13]. Figure 1 leverages this model to show how the engineering and labor theory ofchange fits into this study of engineering graduate students engaging in a strike. The modelconnects Mejia et al.’s critical consciousness model [17], which engages Freire’s principles ofcritical pedagogy [18], with Hassan’s model of learning-assessment interactions [19]. “Mejia etal.’s model is represented in the center of this model, showing relationships between theory, action, reflection, and concepts of scholarship, praxis, concientização, and liberation that resultfrom their overlap. Hassan’s model of learning-assessment interactions is overlaid, with theoverlap taking the form of reflection as an assessment method and action as a learning method”[13

integration of this in the Laplace domain becomes Va/s.Omega represents Va(s) multiplied by the transfer function, and this equation can be solved to determinethe response to a step function (such as a flipped switch which allows current to flow). The graph shown in Figure 6 shows a system with a step input Va and a DC motor’s resultingoutput (omega). Eventually, omega becomes a constant as steady state operation is reached, but intransient responses it is a first order system. How can you incorporate what you learned in the zoom discussion in your report for the project? Then each student had to reply to at least two peers’ posts and do one of the following tasks: 1. Give ideas for how they can answer their question(s). 2. Share some feedback to their thoughts about their project. Finally, for one of the projects, the students completed peer reviews of each other’s reports. Eachstudent read, graded and gave feedback on two other reports. The purpose of the peer reviews wasto allow the students to learn about topics they did not choose and to learn from their colleagues’reflections and change sections.Mechanical Systems Design: Module 1 DescriptionTo date, one
