throughout the process. A previous assignment designed for thesepurposes required students to research teamwork and write a 5-page essay on it during the firstfew weeks of their college career. This assignment failed to convey the true importance ofteamwork skills and the relevance to their own teaming situation, resulting in the sense that itwas only busy work assigned to satisfy the general education requirement. The main objectivesof the new assignment are to improve both cognition, or the core mental processes required forproductive teamwork, and metacognition which involves empowering individuals and teams tomonitor, evaluate, and adjust their cognitive strategies; the result ultimately contributing to thedevelopment of effective team skills

Martin [3] discussed potential biases in SETs due to several factors such asgender, race/ethnicity, attractiveness, age, course difficulty, and expected grade. These biases canlead to unfair assessments and hinder the recognition of effective teaching methods.Criticism regarding the misuse of Student Evaluations of Teaching (SETs) has been ongoingsince the 1990s. In 1997, McKeachie [4] along with Greenwald and Gillmore [5] cautionedagainst grading leniency that can affect the level of ratings. Fearing that lower ratings couldnegatively impact their careers, instructors might be inclined to grade more leniently,compromising academic rigor and standards. -Service STEM Teachers to Teach EngineeringAbstractIn recent years, engineering has been increasingly incorporated into K-12 classrooms, eventhough K-12 teachers commonly have no prior experience with engineering or training in how toteach engineering. Therefore, schools cannot scale their programs to meet the criteria needed toteach engineering effectively. As a result, many teachers hold common misconceptions aboutwhat engineers do and have low self-efficacy with teaching engineering, leading to a lack ofinterest in engineering among K-12 students.
