University Institutional Research Board. A full copy of the surveyquestions is provided in Appendix A. A total of four demographic, 20 quantitative, and fourqualitative questions were posed. For the quantitative questions, a 7-point Likert scale with a rankordering from “strongly agree” to “strongly disagree” was employed. The survey includedquestions about the students’ experiences and opinions with respect to “story problems” (the termused as it is more familiar to our students than “word problems”), and their views on the degree towhich the various tasks within the Jim’s Donut Shop assignment related to real-world situations. In Fall 2022 there were three sections of the course offered with a total enrollment of 78 students;from these students, 66

for engineering students [15]. The goal of this project is to develop high-impact online lab teaching practices and to testtheir effectiveness of them. Accordingly, during the two long semesters in 2022, we tested ourinnovative online lab teaching strategies in the laboratory sessions with the following activelearning strategies in the laboratory sessions by a) developing and implementing open-endeddesign experiences into lab work, b) establishing teamwork in online labs, c) creating an onlinelearning community and to overcome isolation, and d) incorporating pre-lab simulations and pre-lab video demonstrations. These core lab learning strategies were applied in five EE courses:Circuits, Electronics I & II, Microcomputers, and

Engineering Education, 2022 International engineering students’ resistance to isolating university experiences: An opportunity for greater inclusion in engineering education Abstract: In recent years, large numbers of international students are attending engineering schools in the US; however, more could be done by the schools to support the unique challenges these students face. This study analyzes five semi- structured interviews with international electrical and computer engineering students at Purdue University to identify the unique challenges they face due to their international status, how they persist despite the challenges, and what engineering schools

My name is Cassandra Prince (she/her/hers) and I am a third year Civil Engineering Major/Business Minor at the University of Texas at Austin. I was born and raised in the Austin area and I plan to graduate from UT Austin in May of 2022. I have gotten to work for several civil engineering companies such as TxDOT, CobbFendley, and Volkert through internships. In my time at UT Austin, I have gotten involved in organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Women in Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Organization through the Women in Engineering Program, a Lab Assistant through the university, and the LGBQTies, or the LGBTQIA+ engineering organization at UT Austin. have completecontrol over design implementation once requirements have been fully articulated. Prior analysis[5] indicates that RAD focuses on “incremental prototyping” of user-centric design that can bequickly released by small, yet diverse teams of developers, data architects, and solutionsdesigners, among others. Originated by James Martin in the early 1990s, RAD consists of“requirements planning, user design, construction, and cutover” [6]. This methodology isimplemented in LCNC platforms like Infinite Blue Platform, Mendix, and Salesforce. The low-code market is quickly growing; in 2017, Rymer [7] forecast the low-code developmentindustry’s market value to be over $21 billion by 2022, a 658% increase since 2016.LCNC offerings are hosted

Twostudents from the F19 cohort left the program to pursue non-STEM majors. The NSF S-STEMprograms requires that the students remain in a STEM major to remain in the program andreceive the scholarship. The program administrators have worked with students who have neededto work during non-summer terms. Examples include allowing a student who worked during theseminar to zoom into the sessions. The production of forty hours of video materials for the class was an enormousinvestment of time and effort. This class was only one of a number across the country that had todevelop these materials. The challenge is to decide how they to be used going forward. Thispaper recommends that this material and others at other schools be reviewed for best practicesand value. These materials would then ideally be available from the ASEE EngineeringEconomics division on a non-commercial basis. Individual instructors would be able to sharethese materials and tailor them to their specific program
