,over 5,000 students were enrolled in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering andEngineering Technology (SPCEET). Like KSU, SPCEET attracts a diverse student body relatedto race. Nearly 24% of students identify as African American and 15% as Hispanic. When genderis considered, 21% of SPCEET students identify as women. This paper presents a replication of a model focused on university-communitycollaboration, student engagement and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)attraction and retention using three research-focused projects addressing community needs.
