The NSF S-STEM Scholarship is an excellentprogram, and I would highly recommend it to any student.ConclusionThere are numerous ways to measure success in a particular program: retention, graduation,increased GPA. One metric that we have observed is the increase in undergraduate researchactivity. Undergraduate research, as considered by George Kuh, is a high impact practice, whichgives undergraduate students the skills needed in the workforce and supports STEM gains [19,20].
