OERdevelopment and ownership of the Champions course by the Mines Library aligns with thisdemonstrated role of academic libraries.Much of the published literature on OER adoption in higher education acknowledges the need forprofessional development opportunities for faculty. 8,9,10,5 These studies are largely focused onfaculty perceptions of OER based on large scale OER programs or efforts. In the current, second yearof the research data management course, “flipped classroom” approaches have been used morefrequently.
