a librarian is asked a question, s/he may nothave to answer the same or similar question in the future. Imagine that students can askquestions online and are able to receive their professor’s answers even while that professor is offdoing his or her research, on sabbatical, or just on down time. A natural language knowledgemanagement system could be the solution. An integral component of knowledge managementsystems, a knowledge base, is used to optimize information collection, organization, and retrievalfor an organization, or for the general public [1]. Functions of a natural language knowledge basemake it possible to answer specific questions that are likely to be asked repeatedly by other usersbut perhaps in a slightly different manner

short with respect to data. OpenAccess, a movement that originally addressed publications like books and journalarticles, has evolved to include data. Librarians at MIT conducted an experiment in 2005-2006 that underscored the issues of management and dissemination. The knowledgegathered from the results of this experiment informed them of how to strengthen librarianservices to academic communities. In its fledgling stages, data storage and disseminationare ripe to mature in the upcoming years. Such an evolution is crucial to science. One of the authors began teaching an “Introductionto 3D Printing & Design” class in the summer of 2016, and the C-STEM purchased threeFusion3 F-400S’s, an FDM machine, specifically for the class (see Figure 11). The C-STEM hasallowed the Library to keep one of the machines on loan. The F400-S was chosen because itallows the use of a wide range of printing materials such as PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG,Polycarbonate, PC-ABS, Flexible, Polyesters, Acrylic, Soluble, and more.43 Its build volume of14.0 in x 14.0 in x 12.60 in (355 x 355 x 320 mm) is also more than two times larger than theLulzbot TAZ 5 and five times larger than the FlashForge. faculty who attend an OTNworkshop and write a review ultimately intend to adopt an OER for their course(s) [15].Much of the discussion of OER use in STEM disciplines focuses on the implementation of OERin high enrollment introductory courses [16]. Hendricks et al. utilized the Physics 100 course intheir study because it is a large enrollment, introductory course, and they were already revisingthe course and reorganizing course learning materials [6]. At the University of California Davis,ChemWiki was piloted as a replacement for a traditional textbook in one general chemistrycourse. Researchers found that students in the pilot section had comparable overall performancewith students in the control section and self-reported spending more time
