In fact, many of the ideas presented by theassociation are extracurricular in nature, which has been found to be ineffective for reachingengineering graduate students, according to meta-synthesis [1]. While librarians are oftenspecialized in the areas engineering graduate students lack and seek personal mentorship in, theyare often stuck in providing that support by ineffective means. The typical engineering curriculum does not have courses on research methods, few havecourses on research integrity or publication ethics, proposing research, writing, peer reviewing,or how your worldview influences your research [4, 5]. generativeAIs, such as ChatGPT, will have on information-seeking behavior and information literacy andhow to approach teaching about it. At the time of writing this article, there have been fewpublications exploring this question as it relates to different disciplines. Hernandez et. al. [18]used a survey tool to explore factors that contribute to the information seeking behavior ofcomputer programming students related to ChatGPT. Two outcomes that were strongly related to high reportgrades were being able to properly paraphrase literature information as well as properlysynthesize it into an argument. These last two outcomes were particularly weak for teamsconsisting solely or primarily of graduate students. Taken into account were copyright issues, exportcontrol issues, liability concerns with regard to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, andcompliance with our Research Ethics office. We created a custom metadata ingestion form, andthe logbooks will be digitized in-house by our Digital Conversion Unit.
