Who owns the human-generated patterns that define an artist's style, andwho owns their use and the distribution of those results? The Generative AI, Artists' IntellectualProperty Rights, and Collective Action (AI2CA) project is working to address these issues toensure an ethically sustainable ecosystem that is rewarding to artists, AI developers, andproducers of their work. This paper provides a description of the current issues with artists'intellectual rights concerning artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), followed by anoverview of the AI2CA project, a description of

government encourages both compulsory and non-compulsoryeducation systems to (1) incorporate in-depth learning approaches through discussion, groupwork, problem-solving, and project-based learning; (2) include a shift towards formative andholistic assessment methods; (3) emphasize the development of teacher leadership; and (4)integrate STEM disciplines into existing subjects [2], [9], [15], [16]. The government also seta target that the curriculum must be implemented at all levels of the education system by2024 [2], [15].The “Merdeka Belajar” curriculum encompasses a diverse and comprehensive approach tolearning, characterized by several key features as highlighted by [2], [4], [9], [15], [16].Firstly, it simplifies content by focusing on

-makers worldwide face complex AI challenges, often without sufficient in- put from non-technical stakeholders, resulting in a democratic deficit. To address this, we propose the Permanent Symposium on AI (PSAI), a novel facilitation of inclusive, interdisciplinary, global dialogue on AI. This work-in-progress study is part of a larger research project investigating the challenges and gaps between governance and technical expertise in AI decision-making. This study leverages a Grounded Theory Autoethno- graphic (GTA) approach to document the end-to-end development and design consid- erations in envisioning the PSAI. Our approach will inform the future design choices in developing and testing of the PSAI - ensuring

decade. The production rate, stable at just under 2boats per year for the past 15 years, is projected to exceed 5 boats annually by 2030 due togeopolitical uncertainty. This growth will necessitate a substantial increase in the submarineindustrial base (SIB) workforce, with 15,000 annual new hires through 2032 [1]-[5]. Theseexpansion efforts have driven considerable investment in developing a STEM-literate navalworkforce pipeline in regions of high SIB density. This need is demonstrated in effortspioneered in southern New England, developing new pedagogies for K-12 outreach and teachersupport programs [6], [7].This transitory period “could lead to a period of heightened operational strain for the SSN force, and perhaps a period of weakened

This type of learningenvironment would be conducive to learning outcomes whereby

theAdvanced Clean Cars II (ACC II) rule, setting forth an ambitious goal for all passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs sold in the state to be zero-emission vehicles by 2035. Continuing its decades-long role as a leader in environmental regulation, California paved the way for the rest of thenation to embrace such standards, with an additional twelve states adopting ACC II to date.Legislative and regulatory enthusiasm for electric vehicles reaches far beyond CARB’s rule asthe Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) allocated over $7.5billion to EV infrastructure and another $43 billion to projects ranging from batterymanufacturing to workforce transition for auto workers[1]. However, the goals set out by ACC IIwill require

problem solving, based on the learning process, emphasizes thecross-integration of multiple technologies, and takes cultivating talents withcomprehensive scientific literacy and creative, practical ability as its fundamentalgoal[6]. It can be seen that STEM education is not simply an interdisciplinary courseformed by combining disciplines in form, nor is it just project-based learning thatfocuses on practical and hands-on ability[7].STEM education is centred on realproblems in real situations[8], and it flexibly uses the knowledge of various disciplinesof inquiry learning, has the characteristics of interdisciplinary, real situation andcooperation and communication[9].2.2 History of STEM education Historically, STEM education originated in

].MethodsOne way to understand the relationship between the profession of nursing and the current STEMprofession of engineering is to examine the literature to identify examples of effectivepartnerships. Four relationship among the professions of engineering and nursing were identifiedby Oerther and co-workers [3], including: 1) the use of “to engineer” as a verb in the nursingliterature; 2) the application of engineering practice within the discipline of nursing (i.e., KanseiEngineering); 3) side-by-side comparisons of the disciplines of engineering and nursing (i.e.,discipline-specific definition of ethical practice); and 4) educational innovation at the interface ofengineering and nursing (i.e., interdisciplinary team projects). the number of available researchers to carry out projects at theforefront of a specific field of inquiry. Faculty at all institutions are obviously recruited from thePhD granting institutions and consequently have typically spent four or more years conductingadvanced research usually on grant money, have authored papers and reports based on theirwork, and therefore enter the academic world already aware of, and presumably now able toexecute on their own, similar projects. However, other factors come in to play. Some new hires in non-PhD granting programs arespecifically drawn to such schools because they are more interested in teaching what they knowto undergraduates than they are in directing graduate students in research work. Others

interactions [5]. It is critical to understand theirunique needs and preferences. In asynchronous online programs, engaging students require more than just providing coursematerials. It is about creating learning experiences that keep students interested and motivated.Research suggests that adult learners particularly benefit from active learning strategies that allowthem to apply what they are learning in real-world contexts [6]. This could include projects thatencourage problem-solving, group activities, or assignments where students tackle current industrychallenges. Another way to keep students engaged is by promoting interaction. While it is notpossible to have live classes all the time in an asynchronous program, it is still important to findways

become a commonconcern in China's higher education sector, including the engineering education sector. At the same time, the reform of engineering education is also facing the problem oftilting heavily towards scientification and becoming more and more detached from"engineering" itself. The solution is to introduce the "The Idea of Large-ScaleEngineering", so that engineering education in China can return to engineering [28 .In January 2000, the Ministry of Education (MOE) approved the first batch of 670projects for undergraduate education teaching reform. The aim of the project is to adaptto the needs of China's modernization in the new century, to cultivate high-qualitytalents with innovative spirit, practical ability and entrepreneurial spirit

immersive VR experience [4]. This project aims to address this gap by integrating CTML principles into our fully immersive VR design, thereby creating a robust educational tool that promotes meaningful learning experiences for a diverse array of students. Moreover, a 2023 study by Huang et al. [9] on immersive VR in science learning suggests thatgenerative processing - the cognitive load necessary for deep learning - is enhanced in VR butmay not always translate into muscle memory or procedural expertise. Thus, an optimalsemiconductor training approach would involve initial VR instruction, followed by physicallaboratory work to ensure students can perform delicate tasks such as wafer handling andphotolithography.Semiconductor Fabrication in a

Then in February of 2022, they launched a program calledReaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce (RENEW). RENEW aims to support projects atMSIs and non-R1 institutions of higher education to develop the capacity to train undergraduatesand graduate students in STEM fields.Though only one example was provided here, many of the FC-STEM agencies provide similartestaments when describing the changes they have made to existing efforts as well how their newSTEM education programs came to fruition. to research. Furthermore, fostering an environmentwhere leadership is shared, and all members are motivated to contribute to the institution'sresearch agenda can lead to increased grant submissions, interdisciplinary research projects, andpartnerships with external stakeholders, ultimately driving growth in research activity andfunding (Commodore, Freeman, Gasman, & Carter, 2016).Integrating transformational and distributed leadership practices at HBCUs also has the potentialto strengthen partnerships with industry, government, and non-profit organizations. Thesecollaborations can provide additional resources, expertise, and opportunities for applied research, further boosting the institutions' research capabilities and funding prospects

Inan unrelated project in Tanzania, connecting rural villagers to the information economy throughthe use of laptop computers provided access to income, which the villagers could invest based ontheir own preferences [19]. Many villagers used the income to provide additional education fortheir children. In this way, education was used as a tool to provide a better life for the nextgeneration. These examples may serve engineering educators well as they teach design toengineering students.DiscussionAs stated at the outset, one purpose of this article was to engage in a
