inlet and outlet as products enter and leave the oven, surface losses from theexterior of the oven and heat absorbed by the conveyor and the product. In re-designing suchovens to minimize heat losses it is important to identify which factor/s contributes to energylosses. The process variables which have been considered as factors and taken into considerationin DOE are the design of curtains that helps to minimize heat losses at the entry and exit ports, the speed of the conveyor belt, the speed of the blower that introduces hot air into the ovenchamber and the insulation material around the oven. In this paper 2k factorial design is used toanalyze the data to identify main effects and the interaction effects of the factors that wereinvestigated

This Mobile StudioInstrumentation Board (I/O Board) technology replicates the functionality of an oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter, power supplies and additionally allows users to control externaldevices with 16 reconfigurable digital I/O ports. With the advent of a Mobile Studio lab, manyinstrumentation-based course offerings could be held in normal classrooms rather than in speciallyoutfitted studio facilities. In addition, students will be able to perform hands-on experimentsoutside of the classroom anywhere/anytime, thus facilitating new opportunities for them toexplore/tinker and gain insight through practical experience

Additionally, amajority of students (34/42) recognized that flow cytometry is able to distinguish between cellsof the same type (Table 2). Students were asked how flow cytometry might distinguish betweencells of the same type; there was no single correct answer, and many students provided one ormore reasonable response(s) (Table 2). Students were then asked to describe the type of data thatis generated by flow cytometry, choosing from a list of four options rather than generatingindividual responses (Table 2). The final two questions were used to gather student opinion dataregarding the lecture/laboratory

insight into this innovative learning experience.IntroductionAlthough remote laboratory experiments have been studied for educational applications since theearly 1990’s, they are still in their infancy, and are only recently becoming a reality. 1 Moore’sLaw proposes that computer technology development doubles every year, and completeddevelopmental stage can then be utilized the next year to continue these advancements. 2 Takinginto account this exponential growth in computer technology, remote laboratories are now at adevelopmental stage where their potential to become an essential tool for science education ispromising. It is not uncommon to see simulations of experiments used as supplementary educational tools. These virtual laboratories exist

encouraging and fostering new technical development, and the engineeringeducation community needs to evaluate its role in this process6.There are many recently documented examples of electric vehicle applications withinengineering education. Three course experiences on instrumentation, electric vehicles andproject activities were reported by Rizkalla et al7,8,9. A summary of the outcomes from thesethree experiences are that the students were very satisfied, learned technical content not coveredin other courses, and felt that the course helped prepare them for the real world of engineering. From an instructor viewpoint the course(s) relied heavily on industrial cooperation, and includedhands-on experiences. The authors also noted that an industrial

Undergraduate Engineering Students Enhance Novel Instrumentation to Detect the Mach Effect Peter Mark Jansson PE PhD and Peter S. Kaladius Bucknell UniversityAbstract – Undergraduate electrical engineers performing summer research have enhanced thereal-time data collection system of one of their professor’s novel detectors to uncover someremarkable results. Over the past two summers at Bucknell University students in engineeringhave been working on an innovative detector that has repeatedly produced results indicative of areal Machian like reaction force to inertia. Each summer (2018 and 2019) multiple studentscontinued to make electrical enhancements and

everyone works with the systems, specially wiring the components. A betteroption is that each student wires their own circuit and just share the instruments.3. Include educational platforms (Blackboard, Moodle) as an essential part of the course to provideall the tools, content, and grades to deliver the course support. This provides a consistent structuredset of materials and instructions. An additional benefit is that students that might not get enoughexperience during the regular lab session, will have access to asynchronous online materials.4. Ensure that the University is able to provide assistance to students to acquire the instrumentationand reduce logistic problems with components.References[1] S.
