assist the research on this aspect, a mosquito breedingenvironment testing instrumentation was created by a capstone project team. The capstoneproject was started in Spring 2022 and concluded in Fall 2022. Five undergraduate engineeringtechnology students have conducted this capstone project, and an engineering faculty memberadvised this capstone project. This prototype of a mosquito breeding environment testinginstrumentation has a testing chamber that can contain tires partially filled with water inside, anda sliding light source to emulate the light condition variations. The testing instrumentation hassensors to obtain data such as ambient temperature, humidity, CO2, and light intensity. Inaddition, the testing instrumentation can measure

assessments willbe shown. For ABET, it will be shown how these projects can be used to assess student outcomes.IntroductionIn engineering and engineering technology programs, there are a variety of programming andembedded systems courses. C/C++ programming is often used as a primary component to thesecourses. Examples of devices used within embedded hardware and software courses include theProgrammable System-on-Chip (PSoC 5LP) and the BeagleBone Black (BBB) [1-3].Alternatively, MicroPython is a subset of the Python standard library, and it is optimized to run on avariety of microcontrollers for embedded applications [4]. One such device is the Raspberry Pi Pico[5]. The Pi Pico is an inexpensive embedded processor board that can be used in a variety

Paper ID #38735Data Acquisition System to Measure and Monitor Temperatures andAtmospheric Air ParametersDavid N. Long, James Madison University David N. Long is a recent graduate of James Madison University’s, Integrated Science and Technology program. David studied energy and production systems where he worked on the Water Out Of Thin Air project. The aim of the project was to provide clean water with low energy inputs. David concentrated on the Data Collection System which was designed and built to record the key parameters of the project in Costa Rica.Dr. Karim Altaii, James Madison University Dr. Altaii holds a

in Modeling and Simulation and lack of institutions with a degreeprogram in the discipline in our region, designing, promoting and implementing a degree programin an institution that traditionally attracts students from the minority population will represent aviable pathway to increasing the participation of underrepresented minorities in this emerging field. After an extensive search we could not identify any Minority Serving Institution (MSI) that offers adegree program in Modeling and Simulation in our region. This paper will present the ModellingSimulation project which will help students learn the concepts of Modeling and Simulation. Themodeling and simulation project work is supported by the grant from the Department of Education. To
