In order to better understand the role(s) of such a course in an engineering student'seducation and how engineering education considers these issues, the instructor team invited twoundergraduate researchers to undertake projects in support of these goals. One of these students(Amber Levine) was tasked with identifying other courses across the U.S. with similar subjectmatter and learning objectives (“EEL Related Courses Study”); she found 13 courses acrosstwelve institutions that connected issues of diversity and culture to engineering and were targetedto engineering students (Levine, 2016).
