Dr. Lord is a Fellow of the IEEE and ASEE and is active in the engineering education community including serving as General Co-Chair of the Frontiers in Educa- tion Conference, President of the IEEE Education Society, and Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Education (ToE) and the Journal of Engineering Education (JEE). She and her coauthors received the 2011 Wickenden Award for the best paper in JEE and the 2011 and 2015 Best Paper Awards for the IEEE ToE. Under-representation inengineering is particularly notable for the intersectional groups of Black females, Hispanicfemales, and multiracial females. (Note: given the small percentages of underrepresentedrace/ethnicity groups, the unknown data from the American Society for Engineering Education(ASEE) may cause large differences). Also notable is that 2019 was the first year thatrace/ethnicity and gender combined data were reported by the ASEE. Among many highlights of his scholarly work, he was awarded a prestigious National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Research Service Award for his work in neuromuscular control and musculoskeletal biomechanics on children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Gonzalez’s scholarly work includes over 100 publications in journals and conference proceedings many of which are co-authored with his students. For his efforts and innovation in engineering education Dr. Gonzalez has received the American Society of Engineering Educators (ASEE) Teaching Award, the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Award, and LeTourneau University’s top research and scholarship award. This raised a great deal of concern thatcheating would undermine the integrity of exams, and thus subvert the validity of grades.Initial results seemed to bear out the concern. Jacksonville University [1] reported a sharp rise inspring-semester incidents. In the years 2015–2019, an average of 47% of the academic-integritycases were filed in the spring semester. In 2020, it was 61%, and 60% of those cases occurredafter the move to remote learning. Moreover, more of the incidents involved exams.
