As in the rest of the nation, rural highschools in Colorado are underserved with respect to university outreach and engineeringeducation. Research has documented that “rural students tend to lack opportunities to learn inSTEM” (Saw & Agger, 2021, p. 595). As a result of a recent NSF-ATE project [8],cybersecurity skills were broadly identified by Florida’s manufacturing industry as a necessaryskill for AS graduates of Engineering Technology. Many questions about the inclusion ofcybersecurity skills have been raised with the ongoing
