education and many low-income families who cannot afford for theirchildren to attend expensive or distant opportunities. To offer the local families an opportunityfor their children to attend camps and gather invaluable STEM-focused content and skills, it isimportant to obtain funding for camps to ensure students may attend. This paper will focus onthree camps: (1) Camp STEM, a camp open to any incoming 9-12th graders, (2) Gaining EarlyAwareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) in southern West Virginia(SWV) middle school STEM camp, and (3) a Health Science and Technology Academy (HSTA)Summer Institute for 10th graders. Camp STEM has successfully been run at WVU Tech sincethe mid-2000’s. In 2024, GEAR UP SWV middle school STEM

experience also reinforced that accreditation is not about achievingperfection but about demonstrating a systematic approach to identifying challenges andimplementing effective solutions.CSULB’s experience serves as a roadmap for institutions navigating their own accreditationjourneys, particularly those with multidisciplinary programs like BME. By adopting bestpractices in assessment, curriculum alignment, and stakeholder involvement, engineeringprograms can create a strong foundation for future reaccreditations while ensuring graduates arewell-equipped to contribute to the evolving field of biomedical engineering.References[1] A. this initiative, students will partake in a semester-longproject focusing on the development and evaluation of a biomedical device. This course designwill require them to conduct a series of interconnected experiments to determine the device’sefficacy. We aim to simulate real-world engineering challenges and to observe how a progressionof interconnected experiments influences students' self-efficacy and application of complextopics.References[1] H. A fully online asynchronous 14-weekcourse delivery schedule was found to be more effective, although this was not what was reportedduring the initial stakeholder surveys. Finally, the hiring of a single, well-qualified recruiter/advisorhas been valuable. Working professionals prefer to have a single point of contact on the programrather than being required to contact numerous university offices for questions on applying, registering, and financing their programs.Bibliography 1. versatility and performance in Internet of Things (IoT)applications. The ESP32 offers significant computational power while maintaining an efficientenergy footprint. Its onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules provide seamless wirelesscommunication, making it an ideal choice for IoT applications. The ESP32’s Wi-Fi capabilitiesare a cornerstone of its functionality, supporting both 2.4 GHz frequency bands and a variety ofstandard protocols, including IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. This allows for high data transfer rates, efficient packet handling, and reliable connections, even in environments with significantinterference. Additionally, the ESP32 is equipped with advanced features such as Wi-Fi Directand mesh networking, enabling scalable deployments in complex IoT

The fourundergraduate students would support data analysis scaffolding and create session slides andhandouts. However, this plan evolved as the quarter and project began, particularly since I hadn'tfully developed the 12-week curriculum during winter break. design, can greatly improve the design process in each stage and lead tounique results of higher quality. This study aims to identify the relationship between specific spaceenablers (and barriers) to reveal elements of a design that should be present (or absent) at varying stages.A challenge in designing this study is the tacit aspect of the space that may not necessarily be obvious toparticipants, which in itself could be a unique finding. Our goal is to collect more data during the span ofa year-long capstone courses in different engineering disciplines.References[1] Talbert, R., & Mor-Avi, A. (2019).
