Each student is requested to design andimplement an image classifier using CNN. The students are expected to use transferlearning to customize pre-trained neural networks for new classes. He is a Carnegie Scholar and an IEEE Fellow. Professor Loui was Associate Dean of the Graduate College at Illinois from 1996 to 2000.
