Engineering students at Duke University take theirfirst engineering design class [18], as well as other project-based courses, in a 3,000-ft2makerspace (Figure 1). That changed alittle bit the % of retention since the demand for that particular program has been higher than forthe other two. Nonetheless, dropping rates still continue beyond year 2 and we can see thatalthough it is earlier for cohorts for years 2019 and 2020 to obtain data, we can estimateenrollment will drop in a similar manner as cohorts for year 2017 or 2018.
