, many participants’ commented on the challenge of an engineering major inseveral ways, but in general they made it clear that the challenges they faced in majoring inengineering shaped their identity and how they saw others. Ava from HSI1 reported that, “…[B]ut every time I meet an engineer, they’re very passionate about challenges.
