Quiz grading is also as consistent as we can make it. We start with simple grade standards(A: 91-100; B: 81-90; C: 71-80; D: 61-70) and then, if necessary, adjust the ranges down slightly(e.g. use 11 points per grade rather than 10). We do this to correct for any unanticipatedproblems with issues like the wording of questions and use the grades from previous terms as aguide. In the DynamicSystems course, the students were grouped based on their academic records, i.e., every groupwould have one A/B student, one or two C students and one D/E student, determined as theiraverage mark from the Physics and Chemistry course.
