An alternative approach is to develop courses for upper-level non-engineering students based on technical subjects that (a) are interesting and educational to thestudents, (b) do not rely on large amounts of prerequisite knowledge and mathematical skills, and(c) are taught by regular engineering faculty. Such courses can then be offered as electivecourses to students in non-engineering disciplines.
