Despite the low adoption, students who worked on thisproject did feel like they had learned something about app development. We believe that the reason our methods were effective was because of their integration into theday-to-day operation of the lab (e.g., safety moments) and because they provided students with controland responsibility over how safety information was disseminated in the lab (e.g., incident and near missreporting). In 2008, he established Class on a Chip, Inc. to commercialize an array of micro-experimental devices for use in engineering, physics, and MEMS classes. In 2014, he established a new class in the Whitacre College of Engineering, Technology Start-up Lab, which takes students through a process to develop their own technology projects for commercialization. Each summer, he teaches a class entitled Solar Energy, which includes a hands-on solar energy design project. Dr. Dallas has served as the principal investigator for two National Science Foundation sponsored Scholarships in STEM (S-STEM) projects, a
completion over the last four academic years and the planned completion for thisyear.
