— California State University Long Beach (CSULB) has low enrollments by women incomputing and engineering majors. This paper presents strategies implemented to improverecruitment and retention of women in these majors to break this long-standing pattern. Therecruitment strategies include outreach to admitted students while they’re still in the decisionprocess, improving language used on websites and publications, and roadshows to communitycolleges and high schools.
