of fall 2020. Eleven of the applicantsthen decided to accept the offer to enroll in the program and started activities in the Spring 2021semester. In addition, a new student joined the program mid-Spring 2021 based on the advocacyof one of the scholars to help a racially minoritized woman who was in a negative researchlaboratory environment. The director and collaborators mentored her by providing guidance onpolicies for relocating laboratories within her program.
