environmental and socialjustice may be more likely to seek out careers that align with their values [3]. Besides, by takingsustainability-focused courses, attending conferences, and participating in extracurricularactivities related to sustainability [3], students can learn about the challenges facing our planetand the various ways that engineers can help mitigate them. A study conducted by the NationalAcademy of Engineering (NAE) found that undergraduate engineering students who participatedin sustainability-focused service-learning projects were more likely to pursue careers insustainability-related fields [4]. Career opportunities are another important factor that influencessustainability-related career choices among engineering students. As the

objectives slide, andbased on the level of interactivity and the content that needed to be covered, we built slides fromthe ground up by adding characters from the media library, interactive buttons from our toolbars, and textboxes, etc. for any narrative/readable content we wanted to add. The organization treeguided the slide deck flow for the module or scene. Additionally, we were able to use slide layersto manage our project flow, but setting up triggers was our main approach to ensure our sceneflowed properly. An example of the scene view can be seen in Figure 2. 2. Slide and Object TriggersWhat made Storyline 360 so unique was the ability to set up triggers to set up object and slideactions and restrict flow within the course. For example, if

cyberattacks on K-12 schools. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) 2023report revealed a massive increase in cyber-attacks on K-12, from 400 to 1,300 incidents over thethree-year period (2018-2021), and the U.S. government projects that the threat level willincrease. Cybersecurity workers are in high demand in the private and public K-12 sectors, government, and industry because of the increased cyber threats. In the U.S., there are over600,000 job openings, according to Cyberseek and the National Institute of Standards andTechnology (NIST). The shortage of workers provides job opportunities for individuals withAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autism comes with serious challenges but several strengths, and given tasks that serve

The latter would be used to structure homeworkassignments and the active learning activities of the flipped classroom.References1. Bishop-Clark, C., C.E. Nelson, and B. What are STEM graduate students’ perceptions of metacognition in an inquiry-based sharedlearning environment in relation to teaching presence?3. Are there differences in cognitive presence and metacognition across course modalities, i.e.,in-person versus online in relation to teaching presence?Research DesignThis exploratory quantitative research study examined STEM graduate students’ perceptions ofcognitive presence and metacognition in relation to teaching presence. All the participantscompleted a version of the learning modules during the Fall 2023 semester, in which they learnhow to perform research and developed a research project related to their course

In redesigning of the computing course described in this paper, priorpositive experience and success of the author in effective utilization of Excel and MATLAB playeda convincing role in the selection of these two specific tools. Involvement of the author in offeringother higher-level engineering course such as the Introduction to Finite Elements, has alsoconvinced him that Mathcad is also an important tool for civil engineering students and thissoftware should also be included in the departmental computing course. This application softwarehas proven to be especially valuable when dealing with problem solutions which involvemanipulation of matrices and solving

? 1Methodology A. Study participants and study context This study is action research that focuses on the study sheet strategy used by the instructor of a required second-year engineering course, “Engineered Systems in Society”. Study sheet and exam grades were collected from thirty-three students which they prepared for Spring 2023 mid-semester examinations. The course incorporatescontemporary readings, team projects, and experiential learning to enhance students’ conceptual and practicalunderstanding of socio-technical systems. The use of systems thinking concepts and tools are used to help studentsframe socio-technical problems with an emphasis on stakeholder perspectives and ethical decision making within ahistorical and contemporary context
