The specimens were tested to findthe effects of cold rolling on hardness and tensile strength. The students calculated theamount of aluminum required for the casting, estimated the solidification time of thecasting with Chvorinov's rule, and completed most aspects of the specimen casting, rolling, preparation, and property testing processes. The final deliverable of theexperiment was a professional quality laboratory report comparing and analyzing severalmechanical properties.
