Sociotechnical thinking inengineering is discussed using a range of lenses and approaches within engineering education, andI will attempt to synthesize some of the cutting-edge research.One major effort has been out of the Colorado School of Mines. Here, researchers explored a widerange of factors related to sociotechnical thinking in undergraduate engineering programs. Theyexamined the perceptions and experiences of both students and faculty regarding sociotechnicalintegration and its impact on sociotechnical habits of mind [2], [12]–[14].
