His experience with VEX has shown him how much “fun” engineering is and it has opened up this field as an area of interest to him.Most of the 37 interviewed Team Leaders also described experiences with their students thatindicated an increased interest in STEM areas due to VRC participation, usually in the area ofengineering. WISEngineering builds from aninformed engineering design pedagogy, knowledge integration learning framework and the open-source Web-based Inquiry Science Environment technologies. WISEngineering uses engineeringdesign modules to facilitate engineering habits of mind such as systems thinking, creativity,optimism, collaboration as well as standard-based mathematics and science concepts.
