In the first offering of the course in Fall 2018-Spring 2019, a key objectivewill be to validate content choices, ensure that the material is presented at the right level of detailand pace for students enrolled in the course, and determine the efficacy of any improvements tothe online interface students use in the course. The authors have identified that over 50 percent of veterans who enter the college ofengineering at Kansas State University are dismissed or discontinue enrollment. Approximately34 percent of the discontinued/dismissed students leave after their first semester and another 31percent leave after their first year. Therefore, the results of the survey will be directly linked tothe retention of students following their first semester in fall 2018 and spring 2019.
