He is also 2005-2006 Boeing Company Senior Fellow in Engineering Education at the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and was keynote lecturer at the 2004 National Conference on Engineering Education in Colombia. Trained in mechanical and aeronautical engineering (B.S. Rensselaer 1987, 1988) and in Science and Technology Studies (Ph.D. Virginia Tech 1996), he is Principal Investigator of the NSF-funded project
