In the demonstration, six HRC indents aremade on three different cold rolled Steel test blocks, and imaged using a 9600 dpi scanner. Using FijI, anellipse is fitted to each indent, and its area and perimeter values are recorded. In research, MeyerHardness, defined as Load in Kgf divided by the projected area of indentation in mm2, is often used.Meyer hardness correlates extremely well with HRC.
