learning component. University students conducted visits to two middleschool and one high school class rooms and brought various shapes of interest to the schoolchildren back to the laboratory. A 3D computer model of the shapes was created using theSolidWorks software package. A SolidWorks embedded CFD flow analysis tool was used tosimulate the flow profiles around the shapes. A mold for physical models of the various shapeswas fabricated with a 3D printer using ABS plastic and a subscale test article of each shape wasmade from a silicone elastomer.
