The ‘product’ of such an incorrect understanding reflects the popular analogy ofelectricity and water. When learning new material about the ‘invisible’ world, students sought‘visible’ analogies in the observable world. Often the water analogy was presented by instructorsor in books or students made this assumption by themselves because it is “visible”.
