These themeswere translated into items that then appeared on a second survey that gave the same studentsthe opportunity to indicate their level of agreement with these perceptions on a 5-point Likert-type scale. The college ofengineering hands-on summer camps are accredited by the American Camp Association andprovide engineering activities to K-12 camp participants and teachers related to the engineeringdesign process and the engineering grand challenges. This links engineering to students andeducators at the K-12 level. The engineering design process is simplified to include ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve stages. Once the students who have participated in outreachactivities enter college, their familiarization with the program is beneficial in gainingmembership in the GCSP and enhancing their sense of belonging to the GCSP community [4] -[5].New Student

Additionally, Adobe Captivate allows for thecreation of interactive quizzes, user selected pathways, and has a simple user interface to interactwith the content. The ability to implement a wider range of video features in Adobe Captivatewas paired with the tracking abilities of the course’s Canvas learning management system. Thisallowed for tracking of student engagement with the video. Additionally, quizzes were designedto allow for open-ended work to be turned in through Canvas to be graded. By integrating AdobeCaptivate in Canvas an extremely wide range of learning activities could

. ERPsystems automate and integrate business processes that can be found in a production environment, including business processes that take place to support manufacturing. They integrateorganizational information regarding sales and distribution, procurement, inventory, financial andmanagerial accounting, and human resources. As more companies acquired ERP systems, these systems were enhanced to support inter-company processes by extending information sharing and integration to external entities oforganizations including suppliers and customers. By helping to integrate information sharingacross the entire supply chain, ERP systems, known as ERP II or Extended ERP, enable companiesto better plan their production requirements and optimize complex

program [4]. The assignment in this paper is categorized in Prince and Felder’sdefinition of Project-Based Learning (PBL). The students work in pairs to formulate a plan basedon prior knowledge from other courses and new learning. The product is the primary outcomethat is judged, more so than the process. PBL should lead to an increase in conceptualunderstanding, metacognitive skills, and positive feelings about learning the material [2]. Sincethe project is done in pairs, students will also have the chance to advance their communicationand teamwork skills. With all types of inductive learning, there is more self-directed learning andopen-endedness than with deductive lectures [1].PBL in ECE is often used in capstone projects, although examples

Faculty development efforts were originallyenvisioned as a way to keep faculty current in their discipline, because it was assumed that if youknew your discipline, you could teach it [2]. However, in the 70s and early 80s, facultydevelopment efforts shifted to focus on instructional development [3]. Much facultydevelopment literature and institutional efforts have focused on initiatives that may be describedas planned or formal, taking the form of workshops and seminars [4]. However, informal, peer-driven approaches to

The project plan to achieve the project objectives includedsome key goals:• Provide 16 qualified but financially challenged students with funds to enroll as full-time students in the Robotics and Mechatronic Systems Engineering program at UDM. Each student will receive $9000 per year. Seven scholarships will be awarded in the first year and nine in the second. Scholarships will continue for four years, provided the students maintain their eligibility. Therefore, seven and nine students will graduate in the fourth and fifth years of the program

The conference included 80representatives from nine regions (Arizona, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Alabama, Washington,North Dakota/Minnesota/Wyoming, California, and New York), for many it was their firstattendance at an engineering education conference. The conference, known as the Sugar LakeConference, simply focused on how to improve access to, interest in, and the quality ofengineering education on a national level. Outcomes of the Sugar Lake Conference [19]: • Development of vision statements and action plans by each region • Consensus that a national effort was required for: convening and sharing of effective practices; national policy advocacy; and tracking of engineering pipeline statistics

The main issue is generating activities whose purpose is toevaluate progress class-by-class and promote pedagogical interaction. In the course approach, the instructor is not the sole repository of knowledge and becomes moreof a facilitator of student learning. Under this process, the instructor monitors academic concerns, guiding and orienting student training through timely feedback, respect for talent diversity, andactive learning techniques. The process focuses on designing a program for students toprogressively acquire the knowledge required for practical application through activities that mayfacilitate learning and motivate students.Being
