The U.S. Department of Labor, for example,projects that “STEM Occupations are projected to grow by 11% by 2031” [1]. Yet, data from theNational Center for Education Statistics have shown a 50% attrition rate for STEM majors [2].Much can and has been done to address the issue of student attrition, retention, recruitment, inengineering and in higher education in general. Underlying factors for attrition have beeninvestigated [3], [4], and specific success tools have been analyzed [5]. Drawing on this body ofresearch, each individual university must address the question
